Resolved Question: How bad is the road in price canyon in the winter? UT?

I am driving to texas from salt lake city for thanksgiving and I want to go the price canyon route, but I've heard from a person that the canyon will be really dangerous with ice and snow. My car doesn't do well in the snow, but I just got new tires and i think that my car can make it...anyway going futher down i-15 to the junction at i-70 would add two hours to my trip.
